1. Ferry from Coron to El Nido?
A lot of people want to know how to get to El Nido from Coron. I haven’t taken the ferry but I was just in Coron this June (2015) and took these photo outside a couple of travel agencies. I’ve heard mixed reports (good and bad) about the trip. It cost around 1,500-1,800 pesos and takes around 8-10 hours but may take longer (it all depends on the weather). Even though a light lunch is included I was told you should bring snacks and water.

3. What’s the schedule for the 2GO Ferry?
Starting in 2016 the ferry will be making 2 trips a week from Manila and vise versa. Here’s the complete 2GO Ferry schedule:

Hi we are thinking of heading to Palawan from Singapore just after Easter. We have 14 nights before heading back to the UK. Do you think it’s worth doing PP, Port Barton, El Nido and then onto Coron? Flying to PP and out of Coron.
We are two people who are mid 40s who like to travel. The OH loves the water.

Hi Tracy. You have a good amount of time to explore Palawan. Considering your time and your interests you might want to skip either PP or Port Barton. If you’re really interested in see the Underground River stay in PP. Don’t bothere gong to Honda Bay as it pales compared to El Nido and Coron. If you want a small village, laid back experience go to Port Barton.

We are planning to go to Puerto princesa in January 2017. We want to go to coron and el nido as well. What is the best mode of transportation from Puerto to coron to el nido back to Puerto princesa back to Manila

Hi Edith! With your route above you will waste so much time travelling. Best route to take for those three destinations are 1. Fly to Puerto Princesa. 2. From Puerto – Take a bus or shuttle van to El Nido. 3. From El Nido – Take the fast craft boat to Coron. 3. From Coron – Fly back to Manila.
You can also do it in the other direction. You’ll be basically taking a day to travel between each destination.
Just to be sure – with fast craft boat you mean that one which Takes 8-10 hrs, Right? Because from Locals i Heard that there is a fast craft which only takes 3,5 hrs
Hi Laura. I have not updated this page yet but yes there is a fast craft which started about a month ago and it dies take 3-1/2 hours. The rest of the ferries (large bangkas) take 8-10 hours.

Hi Danuta! That’s an easy one – I’d definitely take the Montenegro fast craft that takes only 4 hours. It’s more expensive than the other ferries but I’ve heard good things about it.
We’re planning a trip this August to Coron. Looking to book at Club Paradise for , maybe 3rd or 4th week of August. Hope there won’t be any typhoon to ruin our vacation.

It will be rainy season so just don’t know what you’ll get. When we were there 2 years ago in August we had plenty of sunshine. Hopefully, you’ll have the same luck!
My friends and I are planning to go on a trip to Coron on August 2017 (next year). We are from Cagayan de Oro by the way. We’re on a really tight budget and I don’t know if going by plane or by ferry is much more tipid. Currently, no airlines have their promo seat sales and I don’t know what to do. I know I’m planning a bit too early but I just want to plan ahead of time.
You have plenty of time to check out seat sales. Cebu Pacific always have them but you need to be quick if you see one. They only last for a couple of days and have limited seats. Regular prices will cost around 7,000-8,000 pesos.
If you don’t mind an overnight ferry you can travel 2GO for around 4,000 pesos (tourist class – the super value class is slightly cheaper) but keep in mind they only run 2 times a week so you would have to schedule your trip according to that.
Some great information, much appreciated , I’m taking the 2go ferry from Puerto Princesa to Coron next week & having a hard time finding Coron Pier location on any map.
Read your review on where to stay, hopefully won’t be to busy in July, so I can have a little time to explore a few other possible options for accommodations. Coron sounds a lot like El Nido as far as the town shut down between 10 p.m. and midnight.Thanks again
Hi Jeff! We just took the 2GO ferry from Coron to Puerto Princesa. The pier is located at the very east side of town. You’ll need to take a tricycle to center of town. July is low season so you shouldn’t have any problems having your pick of places to stay. Yes, there’s not much to do at night. Enjoy your stay!
Thank you so much. You just dont know how much it helps me find the answer to how wecould go to Puerto when we`re already in Coron. We thought that having going back flight Puerto princesa to MNL is as easy as like 1 hour boat ride or something. Now we know so we can handle our upcoming trip.
